Every year, hundreds of thousands of people travel to see one of the most spectacular patriotic celebrations in the greater Washington DC region. This summer is no different, with major patriotic events planned on top of the annual Capital Fourth firework display in the heart of DC!

HOW TO STAY NEAR DC AND SAVE SOME $

  • Visitors staying in Prince William, Virginia have numerous options for affordable hotel accommodations and attractions along both Interstates 95 and 66, about 25-35 miles from the White House, based upon where you choose. Book now to ensure availability over the busy holiday weekend.

  • Stay in Woodbridge, Manassas, Gainesville, Dumfries, Quantico, and other vibrant communities with lots of things to do all weekend long, such as craft breweries, wineries, distilleries, major attractions and outlet malls, historical sites & more.

  • Utilize parking apps such as SpotHero to secure your parking space in D.C. before driving in (you can also save some $$$ this way).

  • This year, the Metro has closed stations on the BLUE and YELLOW lines, so preplanning your transportation options is recommended. If staying in the I-66 corridor, park at the Vienna or Dunn Loring Metro stations on the ORANGE LINE to ride the rails into DC on the ORANGE line.

  • As the crowds tend to get very busy in the Nation's Capital on the Fourth, we highly suggest making plans such as a late dinner, a walk around the city for after the fireworks or other options to let the traffic dwindle before returning to your comfortable hotel room in Prince William.
